How much tax does Roblox take?

Roblox takes 30% of each game pass, developer product and private server sale, and the seller keeps 70%. The “Robux tax” is the Roblox Marketplace fee charged by Roblox Corporation. Roblox rounds the seller’s share down to a whole Robux, so a 25 Robux sale pays 17 Robux, not 17.5.

Robux tax by sale type

The fee depends on what you sell. Game passes, developer products and private servers share one rate, while avatar items split the price 3 ways.

How to calculate Robux after tax

Robux after tax = sale price × 0.7, rounded down. The calculator applies this formula when the “After tax” tab is selected.

Example: a 500 Robux game pass

500 × 0.7 = 350. Roblox keeps 150 Robux, and the creator receives 350 Robux, worth about A$1.89 through DevEx.

How to calculate Robux before tax

Robux before tax = Robux you want ÷ 0.7, rounded up. Use the “Before tax” tab to find the price that covers the 30% fee.

Example: receive 1,000 Robux

1,000 ÷ 0.7 = 1,428.57, so set the price to 1,429 Robux. Roblox keeps 429 Robux and you receive 1,000 Robux.
