Two Robux rates compared: store buying price and DevEx cash-out value

Robux have 2 prices: what a player pays to buy them and what a creator is paid to cash them out. In Australia, 1,000 Robux cost about A$18.74 at the 800 Robux pack rate, while 1,000 earned Robux pay US$3.80, about A$5.40, through the Roblox Developer Exchange (DevEx). A Robux cashes out for about 30% of its buying price.

The buying price

Roblox sells Robux in 6 fixed packs. In Australia the 400 Robux pack costs A$7.49, about A$0.0187 per Robux, and the 10,000 Robux pack costs A$149.99, A$0.0150 per Robux. Larger packs cost less per Robux.

Pack Price (AUD) Per Robux
400 Robux A$7.49 A$0.0187
1,700 Robux A$29.99 A$0.0176
10,000 Robux A$149.99 A$0.0150

On the US web store the same 400 Robux pack costs US$4.99, about US$0.0125 per Robux. App store prices and gift cards can differ from the web store, so check the final price before you pay.

The DevEx value

The Developer Exchange (DevEx) lets eligible creators swap earned Robux for US dollars. The standard rate is US$0.0038 per Robux, with a 30,000 earned Robux minimum. Two other rates apply in some cases: US$0.0054 for qualifying Robux from age-verified U.S. players aged 18 or older (from 8 June 2026), and US$0.0035 for balances earned before 5 September 2025.

Why the gap is so large

The gap between the 2 prices covers Roblox’s costs: app store fees of up to 30% on mobile purchases, payment processing, servers, moderation and the rest of the platform. On top of that, Roblox takes a 30% fee on most sales before Robux reach a creator, so a player’s 1,000 Robux purchase becomes 700 earned Robux for the seller.

Example: a player spends 1,000 Robux, about A$18.74, on a game pass. The creator receives 700 Robux, which pay US$2.66, about A$3.78, through DevEx. About 20% of the player’s money reaches the creator.

Which number should you use?

  • Parents and players budgeting: use the buying price. It tells you what a top-up costs.
  • Creators planning income: use the DevEx value, after the 30% Roblox fee.
  • Trading or valuing items: use the buying price, because that is what replacing the Robux would cost.
  • Comparing with other countries: use the Robux converter, which lists 1,000 Robux in 45 currencies.

Can bought Robux be cashed out?

No. Only earned Robux qualify for DevEx. Robux bought with money or gift cards, and Robux received as gifts, can be spent on Roblox but never turned back into money.
