Roblox DevEx payout for Australian creators

The Roblox Developer Exchange (DevEx) pays US$0.0038 per earned Robux, and the minimum cash-out is 30,000 earned Robux, worth US$114 or about A$162. DevEx is the Roblox Corporation program that turns Robux earned from experiences, game passes and avatar items into real money. Australian creators are paid in US dollars.

The 3 DevEx rates

Roblox uses 3 DevEx rates, depending on when and from whom the Robux were earned.

Rate USD per Robux 30,000 Robux pay Applies to
Standard US$0.0038 US$114 Most earned Robux from 5 September 2025
U.S. 18+ US$0.0054 US$162 Qualifying Robux from age-verified U.S. players aged 18+, from 8 June 2026
Legacy US$0.0035 US$105 Balances earned before 5 September 2025

Legacy balances are paid first. Robux earned before 5 September 2025 cash out at US$0.0035 before any newer Robux.

Who gets the U.S. 18+ rate?

The U.S. 18+ rate covers Robux from developer products, passes, subscriptions and private servers bought by U.S. players who verified they are 18 or older. The experience must use R15 avatars only, with no R6 option, and Roblox decides which Robux qualify. Roblox’s rules are based on the player’s location and age, not the creator’s, but they do not say so for creators outside the U.S., so check the DevEx Portal for your balance.

The 30,000 Robux minimum

You need at least 30,000 earned Robux to submit a DevEx request. At the standard rate that is US$114, about A$162 at 1.42 AUD per USD. The DevEx calculator shows today’s figure.

Only earned Robux count. Robux bought with money, gift card Robux and gifted Robux cannot be cashed out.

DevEx requirements

Roblox lists 6 requirements:

  1. Be at least 13 years old.
  2. Hold at least 30,000 earned Robux.
  3. Have a Roblox-verified email address.
  4. Have a valid DevEx Portal account.
  5. Have a tax form on file: Australian residents submit the W-8BEN.
  6. Follow the Roblox Terms of Use and Community Standards.

How to cash out with DevEx

  1. Check your earned Robux balance in the Creator Dashboard.
  2. Open the DevEx Portal and complete identity verification.
  3. Submit the W-8BEN tax form as a non-U.S. taxpayer.
  4. Request a cash-out of 30,000 earned Robux or more.
  5. Receive the US dollar payment through the payout method set up in the DevEx Portal.

Remember the 30% Roblox fee

When you sell a game pass, developer product or private server, Roblox keeps 30% of the sale. A 1,000 Robux sale leaves 700 earned Robux, and only those 700 Robux count toward DevEx. To reach 30,000 earned Robux, you need about 42,858 Robux of sales. The Robux tax calculator works out any sale.

Converting the US dollar payout to AUD

DevEx pays in US dollars. The bank or payment provider converts the payment to Australian dollars at its own exchange rate on the payment day and may charge a conversion fee. Compare the rate you receive with the mid-market rate shown in our calculator.

Earned Robux Payout (USD) About (AUD at 1.42)
30,000 US$114 A$162
50,000 US$190 A$270
100,000 US$380 A$540
1,000,000 US$3,800 A$5,396

Tax in Australia

DevEx payouts may need to be declared to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), especially when you earn regularly or run your creations like a business. The W-8BEN is a U.S. form and does not replace Australian tax obligations. Keep a record of every payout, the date and the exchange rate used.
